Wet-seal was established in Australia in 1985 and in New Zealand in 1997, to provide waterproofing solutions for the Building Industry and other areas. We have a core in-house team providing specialist skills across key disciplines in both Waterproofing Systems and the Franchise System. These include system design, performance measurement and tracking, rewards and recognition, training workshops and conferences, events, marketing and communication strategies. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and our ability to listen carefully and understand our client’s needs and requirements. The DirectorsMr James Arthur Child – Managing DirectorMr Child was born in Sydney , New South Wales and is married with three children. Mr Child is a qualified accountant and has an extensive background in accounting and management, which resulted in him holding positions of Financial Controller of companies with net asset values of $2 billion dollars. He is also the senior partner in a very successful accounting firm. Mr Child’s excellent people and management skills see him ideally suited for the dual roles of Managing Director and Financial Director. Mr Michael Ellis – Technical DirectorMr Ellis was born in England and moved to Australia in 1974. After identifying a niche in the market, Mr Ellis formed a partnership and created the waterproofing business. After several successful years of working in the field Mr Ellis and his partners formed the Franchisor where he took on the role of Promotion Director. Since then he has moved on to Technical Director. The Franchisor’s rapid success has led to its expansion in both Australia and New Zealand. Mr Kevin Tighe – Quality Assurance DirectorMr Tighe was born in England and moved to Australia in 1974. With his plumbing background he saw the potential and joined the waterproofing partnership in 1986. He became the companies Purchasing Officer in 1990. In 1993 he took on the task of managing the companies Quality Assurance System. Mr Tighe has continued as the companies Purchasing Officer whilst also developing and maintaining the Quality Assurance System. Mr John Parkhill Rathbone –DirectorMr Rathbone was born in the United Kingdom and is married. Mr Rathbone has a strong waterproofing background. He has rapidly improved the Franchisor’s products performances and technical efficiencies. As an authority on the Standards for Waterproofing, Mr Rathbone was invited to join the committee of the Housing Industry of Australia’s (H.I.A.’s) Waterproofing Industry Council of Australia in Sydney in November 1997. He is a member of the committee that was involved in revising the new Standard for Waterproofing Balconies.
